Setting up Domain name and Hosting
Go to http://www.34sp.com and click on domains in the right-hand side menu
Type in your chosen domain name / web address into the search bar and choose either .co.uk or .com from the drop-down menu. (.co.uk domains cost £10 per 2 years whereas .com cost £20)
Click search and if it is available, select basket
Remember to double-check that the spelling of the web address is accurate
If it is convenient, select the option to purchase hosting (which costs £17.95 per year) at the same time, otherwise proceed to checkout via selecting purchase (see *)
Ensure you have chosen ‘personal hosting’ from the drop-down menu
Enter an ftp (file transfer protocol) username and password, these will be used to upload files to your website
Your domain name should already be entered for you under ‘domain details.’
Leave the account details as specified and click basket
Click purchase and * enter personal details and credit card information
You will also need to specify an account password (used to login to the 34sp website), which should be different to your ftp password
Agree to terms and conditions and check the total cost
You should receive email confirmation within 24 hours that your domain name (and hosting) has been registered and is ready for use
If you have purchased the domain name but not hosting:
Go to http://www.34sp.com (log in to your account, if you have already bought the domain name from 34sp) Click on hosting in the right-hand side menu
Click on order by ‘personal hosting’
Enter an ftp (file transfer protocol) username and password, these will be used to access your webspace and upload files to your website
Type your domain name accurately into ‘site address’ and ensure the 1st item is checked for ‘hosting type’
Leave the account details as specified and click basket
Click purchase and enter personal details and credit card information
You may also need to specify an account password (used to login to the 34sp website), which should be different to your ftp password
Agree to terms and conditions and check the total cost
You should receive email confirmation within 24 hours that your hosting has been registered and is ready for use
NB: Forward any 34sp email notifications (providing ftp details etc) to your web designer
Managing your Accout
To renew hosting and domain name subscriptions and make payments, upgrade, view invoices etc...Go to >> http://www.34sp.com and account login
Enter username and password
Remember to keep your contact email address up to date
click view account details and edit and update
